Cosmos within emerged as a series when I decided to embrace my pareidolia as a means of streaming of my subconscious mind. The intricate drawing exemplifies my emotion of belongingness within the larger world.
The practice of automatic and intuitive drawing in a controlled environment has led to various revelations related to transient moment, relative perspectives, cosmogony. With a strong desire to communicate same emotions, I have post processed my drawings with a wide spectrum of mediums –digital interfaces, augmented reality, reflection and shadows, controlled visuals and perspectives.
Following is the documentation of the artwork that I had done as commission for various clients across tricity.
Words can be taken out of context, misinterpreted, miscommunicated. They can ruin relationships and political careers. Simple texts or posts can forever change someone’s life for better or worse.
Language is an ongoing series that explores the gaps inherent in communication and words’ limitations. The works in Language share a common insistence upon deconstructing language, inventing new languages, or attuning us to latent meanings in extant language.
I believe there is a negative space, an unseen force, which pulls us together, yet also defines our individuality. These sketches are a part of a daily ritual where I try to visualize the feeling of levitation against the gravitation.
“Time doesn't exist, clocks exist. Time is just an agreed upon construct.” - David J. Conway
Relativity is a series of research on the subject of time-rhythm-routine. I am intrigued by nature’s way of revealing time. For me, observing clouds; stars; moon; shadows are a way of practicing nowness. And it is ironic how the same elements of nature have been used to divide life into past, present and future.
The more I observe, the more it expands. There is an entire cosmos in every inch of earth.
This series is a documentation of those moments when I pause to observe.
Catharsis – the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions. As the name applies, artworks in this series are left open to differing interpretations.
