Trained as an architect, my point of entry into art making has been through a strong desire to interrogate and research.
Frequently shifting scales of subjects, my work aims at exploring structures of our reality. And thus, I pursue a long-form aesthetic exploration of relativity, perception, rhythm, embodied experience and feeling of self. It's a searching process –to think forward and learn.
My art practice is twofold – where practice becomes a form of meditation and the final artwork becomes the manifestation of that experience. As a firm believer of practice, I embrace the ritual of observing, reading, writing, mark making, automatic drawing and nowness to transcend the act of making.
I believe my creations are like a river flowing between the two parallel banks of conceptual art and abstract art. It may feel conceptual at a passing glance, while a closer look may reveal the intuitive and meditative side of the artworks and the process involved.
A strong desire to communicate this feeling of transcendence has led me to explore and work across different mediums to project the work I create. In my most recent works, I am interested in creating art that is experiential, interactive and constantly changing.
